Some Great News....!

Lauren had a little inkling about something one March evening and so we left the little ones with the boys and made a quick trip to Safeway.  Going through the line to pay, our checker was Michelle, who I just love!  She greeted me by name (although pronounced incorrectly, I love that she does this every time!)  and chatted with us as I bought a few items.  She seemed pleased to make the connection that Lauren and I were sisters-in-law.  (I mean, she sees us on a regular basis- I don't know about Lauren, but I'm in Safeway two or three times a week, at least.)  Finally, Michelle picked up the box that was the purpose for our grocery trip and asked if it was mine.  Lauren claimed it as her own, paid, and we said good-bye.

A few minutes later, back at our house, Lauren excused herself to use the bathroom, and came out minutes later with wide eyes, a shocked expression, and her head bobbing up and down.  "Well, tell Adam!" I told her.

The next day, I returned to Safeway and again saw Michelle.  "So, was it good news?"  she asked me.

"It was!" I told her and she offered her congratulations.

Another day passed and the following evening, Lauren and Adam cleverly shared their happy news with the grandparents over dinner.  I cooked up some baby back ribs, baby carrots, and "strawbabies" to contribute to the celebration.

So, the moral of this story is... if you want to know the latest news from the Gillis and Montoya clan, see Michelle at Safeway.  Michelle at Safeway knew the happy baby news before Grandma and Grandpa or anybody else in the family found out about it!

Well, now Michelle from Safeway is practically family, in a way.

Jack's 3rd Birthday

At his first dentist appointment a couple of weeks ago, Jack told the dentist that he wanted a "present party" for his 3rd birthday, but as the day approached Jack's request became an "ice cream cone party," so we invited some family over, opened presents, and had ice cream cones!  I think he got the best of both parties!

Jack's kitchen is all stocked up.... now we're just waiting for him to whip up some spectacular meals!

Aurora's Birthday Party

The second birthday celebration was for little Aurora. Aurora's mom, Sharla, is a good friend of mine from work. We celebrated her 2nd birthday at Bonnie Park and had a terrific time!
