The Star Atop the Christmas Tree

This year Juliana helped us put the star on top of the Christmas tree.  (Jack was not the least bit interested in helping with anything remotely related to decorating the tree!)

Thankful.

Tonight, after we finished reading our goodnight books, praying "to Jesus", and singing our nightly song, I leaned over and kissed Jack on the top of his head.

"I love you."

"No, you do not love me," he replied (in typical Jack fashion).

"I do," I told him.  "I do love you."

Then, with his eyes on the book in front of him, he said, "I do love you, too."

Roll -a- Baby!

On this lovely first evening of November, I carried the youngest to the pack-and-play for a quick diaper change.  As I pulled the old diaper off her cute, round bottom, Little Big Town began crooning the lyrics to Pontoon on the television set, entertaining hundreds of country music stars and millions of people sitting on their couches in homes all across America at the CMA awards.  I turned away from the little one, leaving her lying on her back, while I threw the dirty diaper into the trash can.

Five Years of Wedded Bliss!

On October 27, Nathan and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!  The day conveniently fell on a Saturday- date night!  We celebrated with Lauren and Adam whose first wedding anniversary fell on Monday, the 22nd.  We ate a delicious dinner- complete with appetizers, wine, dinner, and dessert- at the Craftwood Inn.  Afterward Nathan surprised me with a visit to the steps of the Fine Arts Center where we had our first date (a Peter Max exhibit).  On the steps he presented me (via Lauren) with a dozen red roses and, in the chilly night air while Lauren played our wedding song on her cell phone, Nathan and I renewed our vows.  It was all very romantic.  I'm lucky to spend this life with such a thoughtful and kind man!  Here are some pictures from our night....
